INFRASTRUCTURE

IaaS

Infrastructure as a Service. Cloud computing where the provider delivers raw compute, storage, and networking, and the customer manages everything above the hypervisor: operating systems, runtimes, and applications. The most flexible and most hands-on cloud model.

IN PRACTICE

AWS EC2, Azure Virtual Machines, and Google Compute Engine are IaaS. You rent the virtual server and you patch it, secure it, and run whatever you want on it.
