NETWORKING

Telemetry

Real-time operational data streamed from network devices, systems, and applications, used for monitoring, performance analysis, and troubleshooting. Telemetry is the raw material that powers observability platforms.

IN PRACTICE

SNMP traps, sFlow, NetFlow, and streaming telemetry over gNMI all feed telemetry pipelines. A modern data-center fabric emits per-flow telemetry that lets the operator see queue depth and latency in near real time.
